Work Experience

Wachusett Regional School District - Holden, MA Mountview  Aug 2000 - Jun 2002

Special Education Teacher (Full-time)

I was a Special Education teacher involved with teaching all subjects and Behavior Modification to students with severe ADD, ADDHD, Oppositional/Defiant Disorder and other psychological and emotional issues to students in grades 6-8.

Worcester Public Schools - Worcester, MA Worcester Public Schools Aug 2002 - May 2004

Teacher (Full-time)

I taught English/Language Arts to repeating freshmen, at-risk students and Honors English/Language Arts to students in grades 9-12.

Jul 2009 - Aug 2010    Ombudsman Alternative School - Rockmart, GA Center Director (Full-time)

I provided leadership to staff and at-risk students in order to make  meaningful progress towards reaching their full potential as educators and learners. Students were placed in the center due to the inability to progress in the typical public school setting. It was our responsibility to help them become successful in school, understand the value of a good education, help them cope with their societal issues, and to provide them with the  opportunity to return to their home school or to graduate.

Aug 2010 ÔÇô May 2013 Delaware Avenue School - Fort Pierce, FL

Language Arts 6-12 (No Contract)

I was a Language Arts 6-12 teacher at an alternative education school. Our school was designed to help students expelled from other district schools to return to their home school, retrieve credits in order to make progress towards returning to appropriate grade level, or graduate. Most of our students had social, emotional and behavior problems coupled with ESE designation. We worked hand in hand with behavior technicians, police, probation officers and counselors in hope of helping unsuccessful students achieve mastery according to the Florida Department of Education's standards and benchmarks.
